Report summary
The upstream industry is now in a healthy state with current oil prices and generating good margins. Costs are down, lifting FID activity and put anticipated exploration returns back in the black The M&A market will be in competition for the capital from another bumper year of DROs (Discovered Resource Opportunities) as Qatar and Brazil offer significant projects. The majors have a good outlook for production until 2025, but there are notable differences amongst the companies in the longer term. LNG is an important component, especially as numerous projects vie to achieve FID this year. Finally, our medium term view on refining margins has been updated.
