Eni buys Neptune Global Business as part of wider US$4.9 billion deal

Eni and Vår Energi have agreed to a US$4.9 billion deal to acquire private-equity backed Neptune Energy Group. Neptune has operations in Asia Pacific, North Africa and Europe. Eni will acquire Neptune's entire portfolio outside of Germany and Norway. Vår will acquire the Norwegian portfolio, while Neptune's German operations will be carved out prior to the transaction. Oslo-listed Vår Energi is 63% owned by Eni.
