EQT consolidates in the Marcellus with US$2.9 billion acquisition of Alta Resources
Report summary
EQT continues its course of bringing additional consolidation to the Marcellus. Following its 2020 acquisition of Chevron's northeast US assets, it is now acquiring private operator, Alta Resources, for US$2.925 billion. Post-deal close, EQT will be producing 5.6 Bcfe/d, and will be the largest natural gas producer in the US by a wide margin. It will hold over two decades of economic undrilled inventory.
