Estación Fernández Oro is a tight gas development from the Lajas formation, which is located in the province of Rio Negro. The block as among the most relevant tight gas projects for YPF, second to Loma La Lata in terms output. Gas output from the block grew under different price incentive schemes introduced by Argentina's government since 2008. In 2024, the area was divested by YPF to a consortium formed by Quintana Energy and TBS.
