Exploration in Russia: Go offshore for volume, stay onshore for low risk
Report summary
Investment in Russian E&A reached the record sum of US$6.2 billion (RUB361 billion) in 2017. Frontier exploration made the headlines, from the remote Taimyr Peninsula to deepwater Black Sea. But the success wasn’t always there. Unsurprisingly, most exploration was instead focused on mature provinces onshore. The discoveries were small – on average less than four million barrels in the Volga-Urals – but the cost and risk were also lower. In this slide pack, you will: find out the latest trends in Russian exploration; discover who are the top explorers; learn about the next large prospects to be drilled.
