ExxonMobil: what and where will it sell?
Report summary
ExxonMobil has assembled a best-in-class growth pipeline in the wake of the oil price downturn, adopting a counter-cyclical investment strategy. But the SuperMajor has failed to tackle its legacy business with the same rigor, lagging its peers in terms of upstream disposals. Following the sale of its Norway portfolio, a US$15 billion disposal programme is now in full swing. The aim is to free up capital, sharpen the portfolio and improve underlying financial performance. As attention switches to divestment targets in Asia Pacific, you can listen to the webinar we hosted on 21 November 2019, where we discussed the following questions: - Where will ExxonMobil's upstream growth come from? - What assets globally, and in Asia Pacific, will ExxonMobil target next for divestment? - How far beyond the US$15 billion guidance could the disposal programme go? The presentation slides are available in the REPORT DOWNLOADS section.
