Report summary

The Faihaa oil field was discovered by a consortium led by Kuwait Energy in September 2014. The field is an extension of Iran's giant Yadavaran field. It is the first discovery from Iraq's 2012 exploration round, and was discovered by the Faihaa-1 exploration well. The well tested oil in both the Mishrif and Yamama formations. The Faihaa-1 well was hooked-up to a temporary processing facility and brought onstream in October 2015. During 2016 one appraisal well was completed and hooked up to the facility. A second appraisal well was drilling at year-end 2016 and is expected to be connected to the facility in H1 2017.
