Report summary
On 10 May BP and partner DEA announced first commercial production from Phase One of the West Nile Delta Project was achieved on 24 March. This milestone was reached eight months ahead of schedule and will supply up to 600 mmcfd of much-needed gas to the Egyptian Market. West Nile Delta is key to bringing Egypt's gas production back up to pre-revolution levels, and one of BP's flagship projects globally. It forms part of a wave of new Egyptian gas developments, which began in 2015.
