State-owned Turkmengaz operates South Iolotan, the world's second-largest gas field. The super-giant, pre-salt sour gas deposit is part of the Galkynysh (Revival) gas zone in the Amu Darya basin. This includes nearby satellite fields, most notably the giant undeveloped Yashlar and Garakol discoveries.All South Iolotan Phase One and Phase Two gas is contracted for export to China.
