Report summary

The Gassi El Agreb (GEA) fields are located in Hassi Messaoud ridge around 100 kilometres south of the giant Hassi Messaoud oil field and were originally discovered by Elf in 1959. Production from the three fields commenced in 1960 and rapidly increased to a peak of approximately 48 000 b/d in 1969. Natural decline led to the fields being awarded in 2000 to a joint venture company of Hess and Sonatrach with the aim of rehabilitating production through the application of enhanced oil ...
