The Kirkuk fields are in the Kirkuk province in northern Iraq and consist of Kirkuk Avanah, Kirkuk Baba, Bai Hassan, Khabbaz and Jambur. These fields were discovered between the 1920s and 1970s by the Iraq Petroleum Company, a historical in which BP held an equity interest. Until February 2025, they were under the full ownership and operatorship of the North Oil Company (NOC), a state-owned company under the Iraqi Ministry of Oil. In February 2025, Iraq awarded BP a contract to rehabilitate and redevelop the Kirkuk fields. This report presents our commercial base case for the redevelopment project starting in 2025. For historical development and production, please refer to the ‘North Oil Company operated assets’ report.
