The Jenein Nord block is located immediately west of Eni's Adam concession in the Ghadames Basin in Southern Tunisia. Twelve discoveries have been made to date on the concession between 1988 present. Production began in 2007 and was initially processed at temporary facilities located on the fields. In 2010 Pioneer completed the installation of permanent facilities with a processing capacity of 20 000 b/d. Production is transported via a purpose built spur line to the TRAPSA pipeline which carries the crude to the Zarzaitine export port of La Skhira. Gas production started in 2014 initially using the El Borma Gabes gas line. Larger volumes of gas will be transported via a 350 mmcfd pipeline as part of the Nawara development. In January 2011 OMV acquired the asset as part of the US$839 million corporate acquisitions of Pioneer Tunisia. The deal was completed on February 18 2011 and OMV assumed operatorship of the company.
