Kapuni
Report summary
Kapuni is an onshore gas-condensate field south of Mount Taranaki, 85 kilometres from New Plymouth. The field was discovered in 1959 by a Shell-BP-Todd Energy joint venture. Commercial production began in 1970, making it the first field to be developed in New Zealand. Production peaked at 206 mmcfd in 1977.
