Khvalynskoye
Report summary
The Khvalynskoye field lies in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea, close to the Kazakh border. In May 2002, Russia and Kazakhstan reached an agreement on the division of the North Caspian Sea on a median-line principle. This agreement was applied to three disputed structures through which the median line passes: Khvalynskoye (part of the Severni block), Kurmangazy and Tsentralnaya.
