Liaohe Oil Fields
Report summary
The Liaohe Oil Fields complex is located mostly in the Liaoning province. The southern part of the complex extends into the shallow water area of the northeastern Bohai Gulf. Development of the Liaohe oil fields started in the early-1970s, when several major oil fields such as Xinglongtai, Shuguang, Huanxiling and Damintun were brought onstream. After decades of development, heavy oil accounts for a large proportion of production and reserves.
