It has become standard practice to complete Haynesville wells with 3,000 to 5,000 lbs/ft of proppant with stage spacing below 200 feet, all while drilling laterals approaching two miles. We are observing big productivity gains in shorter lateral wells when the increased proppant and denser stage spacing strategies are employed as well though. Most interestingly, operators have used this better completion efficiency to redefine the competitiveness of leases far outside established core areas. Committing to this acreage a few years ago was effectively a bet on technology and it paid off.
