On 12 June 2024, Matador announced it would acquire the Permian private Ameredev II for a deal consideration of US$1.9 billion. This latest bolt-on acquisition continues the company’s pattern of growth through strategically targeted M&A. Just over a year after closing its purchase of Advance Energy Partners, Matador is purchasing another EnCap-backed operator and Advance’s former partner.
