The Nearshore Otway Gas Project is around four kilometres from the Victorian coast. It encompasses four nearshore fields supplying the onshore Otway gas plant: Halladale, Speculant, Black Watch, and Enterprise. Halladale and Speculant achieved first gas in 2016, Black Watch in 2020, and Enterprise in 2024. All fields were developed using extended reach wells drilled from onshore. The project is currently operated by Beach Energy. The gas is processed at the Otway gas plant owned by the Beach-Ofer JV. Sales gas is fed into the South East Australia Gas (SEA Gas) pipeline for supply to the south-east Australian market.
