The Niglintgak field is 100% owned and operated by Shell. In July 2011, Shell announced its intention to divest its 11.4% interest in the Mackenzie Gas Project, which includes 100% of the Niglintgak field. At the time of writing, Shell remained the sole interest holder. Niglintgak is the smallest of the three gas fields in the Mackenzie Gas Project (Niglintgak, Parsons Lake, and Taglu), which will serve as anchor fields for the proposed Mackenzie Valley Pipeline.
