The North Coast Marine Area (NCMA) contains seven gas fields to the north of the island of Trinidad - Hibiscus, Chaconia, Poinsettia, Poinsettia Southwest, Ixora, Bougainvillea and Heliconia. The fields lie in a distinct geological province, on trend with a number of gas fields in Venezuela's coast.
