North Malay Basin Gas Project
Report summary
The North Malay Basin Gas Project comprises a collection of gas fields offshore Peninsular Malaysia, bordering the MTJDA. The fields within PM301 and PM302 were discovered by Petronas Carigali and the Shell/Petronas Carigali joint venture, Carigali Shell Mutiara (CS Mutiara). In June 2009, Hess purchased Shell's interests in PM301 and PM302, enabling it to utilise its experience of developing the adjacent A-18 acreage in the MTJDA. In 2012, Hess acquired a 50% interest in the Bergading field from Petronas Carigali, equalising interests across the area and therefore accelerating progress on the North Malay Basin Gas Project.
