Risha
Report summary
The Risha gas field is situated in northeast Jordan, 370 kilometres east of Amman, near the Iraqi border. It came onstream in 1989 and is estimated to contain over 300 bcf of gas reserves. Gas is produced from Ordovician sandstone reservoirs and sold on site, contributing to the generation of electricity at the nearby Risha Power Plant.
