Report summary

The Risha gas field is situated in north east Jordan, 370 kilometres east of Amman, near the Iraqi border. Gas is produced from Ordovician sandstone reservoirs and sold on site, contributing to the generation of 70 MW of electricity at the nearby Risha Power Plant. The field is the only source of domestic gas production in Jordan and is comprised of a northern area, known as Central Risha, and a southern area, both of which are linked by a 51 kilometre pipeline.
