Sakhalin-3 comprises four blocks off the east coast of Sakhalin Island. From north to south, they are: East Odoptinski (Block 1), Ayashski (Block 2), Veninski (Block 3), and Kirinski (Block 4). Rosneft held the Veninski block until the end of 2013, while the other three blocks were awarded directly to Gazprom in 2009.
