Scotia is a coal seam gas (CSG) project located in the Bowen Basin, Queensland,145 kilometres northeast of Roma, and 340 kilometres northwest of Brisbane. It is considered one of the more attractive CSG plays in Queensland due to the coal properties and structural setting. Scotia was developed to supply the Swanbank power station, which was one of the first CSG-based gas sales agreements in Australia. Commercial sales began in May 2002. This analysis values only the gas required to satisfy the domestic GSA. It does not include any gas supply from Scotia to the GLNG project at Gladstone. For further information on the GLNG project, please see our GLNG - upstream analysis.
