On 15 January 2021, Shell, Total & Eni completed the sale of their combined 45% interest in OML 17 to Trans Niger Oil and Gas Limited (TNOG), a related company of Heirs Holdings Limited and Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp), for a consideration of $803 million. A total of $678 million was paid at completion with the balance of $125 million to be paid over an agreed period. NNPC, the JV partner on OML 17 will retain its non-operated 55% interest.
