On 15 January 2021, Shell, Total & Eni completed the sale of their combined 45% interest in OML 17 to Trans Niger Oil and Gas Limited (TNOG), a related company of Heirs Holdings Limited and Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp), for a consideration of $803 million.
