The Sidi El Itayem field is located onshore, in east central Tunisia, approximately 25 kilometres northwest of the city of Sfax.The field is operated by Compagnie Franco-Tunisienne des Petroles (CFTP). CFTP discovered the field in 1971. The complex of fields is made up from two oil structures, located to the west and centre of the block, and one gas formation to the east.
