The Snøhvit Area is an integrated upstream, pipeline and gas liquefaction development. It was the first LNG production facility constructed in Europe and the first north of the Arctic Circle.The first phase of the project developed the Snøhvit and Albatross gas fields via subsea facilities in the Norwegian Barents Sea. These are tied back directly to a 4.1 million tonnes per annum LNG plant at Melkøya, near Hammerfest, via a 160-kilometre multi-phase pipeline. The ...
