Surgutneftegas (SNG) operates the Talakan Fields in Sakha-Yakutiya in East Siberia. The asset includes the core Talakanskoye field and several satellite deposits. Oil production from Talakan fields is more than 170,000 b/d. The fields were some of the first to be developed in East Siberia.Talakanskoye lies adjacent to the giant Chayandinskoye field.
