Talos will acquire a portfolio of assets in the US Gulf of Mexico for US$640 million. The sellers are private equity-backed companies – Riverstone-backed ILX Holdings, ILX Holdings II, ILX Holdings III, and subsidiaries of Castex Energy, and Warburg Pincus-backed Venari Resources. To help pay for the deal, Talos will issue an additional US$250 million in equity while also increasing its borrowing base.
