Total Decom - UK North Sea decommissioning overview
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Decommissioning activity has been delayed in the UKCS time and time again. The high oil price between 2011-2014 allowed mature fields to keep producing economically but this not the case in the current commodity price environment. We assume companies will not be able to keep producing UK fields at a loss which will result in a ramp up of decommissioning activity. The UK oil and gas industry is at the forefront of decommissioning globally and has the opportunity to become pioneers in this field. There is a huge opportunity for the UK industry to lead the way by establishing best practice in the sector.
