A lot has changed since our August 2022 update on Western Australia's domestic gas balance: 1. Gas demand forecast has increased, due to the planned early retirement of coal-fired powergen 2. A series of upstream reserves write-downs has decreased near-term supply 3. The WA market is now finely balanced in the 2020s, with new developments required in the 2030s We update our views on Western Australia's domestic gas outlook, operator versus WoodMac projections for new supply, the outlook for more consolidation and collaboration, and the likelihood of LNG export approvals for Perth Basin gas.
