This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
China and Australia have just concluded negotiations for a bilateral free trade agreement (FTA), known as ChAFTA. On the surface, this agreement has wide ranging implications for the mining sector in Australia, as a variety of import tariffs will be abolished or phased out. On paper, thermal coal, metallurgical coal and alumina benefit the most from the deal. But in reality the benefits to these sectors will be limited.
