Bulga coal mine
Report summary
Bulga is a large scale surface operation producing primarily thermal coal for export markets. The mine is located 12 kilometres south west of Singleton in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales. Bulga was operated in conjunction with the adjacent Bulga (Underground) longwall mine before its closure in 2018. The mine is majority owned and operated by Glencore on behalf of a joint venture. The main lease covering the operation is ML 1547, granted on 5 April 2004.
