Report summary
The heat of northern hemisphere summer 2024 provide the boost to keep coal prices buoyed in the interim. Weather disruptions in Australia and logistical challenges across most suppliers added additional support. Questions around Chinese demand linger though imports continue at an exceptional pace. Price weakening is on the cards for exporters into China as domestic coals and ample stockpiles conspire to pull down QHD prices and import prices along with them going forward.
