Grande Cache Underground coal mine

Report summary

Grande Cache Underground is a suspended metallurgical coal producing mine located in the Smoky River coalfields of west central Alberta, Canada. The mine and its sister operation, Grande Cache Surface, are owned by CST Canada Coal. The mine previously produced a low-sulphur, low-volatile metallurgical coal that was exported globally. If CST elects to restart the underground operations, there are currently 13.4 Mt of marketable reserves available.
