Bangladesh is at an early stage of economic development where most of its workforce is still engaged in low value-add activities, particularly in agriculture and informal sectors. In recent years, Bangladesh has gained competitive advantage in low-cost manufacturing due to its abundance of labour. Main exports include garments, leather and jute.
