EU charges Gazprom over anticompetitive behaviour
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
On 22nd of April, the European Commission sent a Statement of Objections to Gazprom alleging that three of its business practices in central and eastern European markets are in breach of EU antitrust rules. This challenges Gazprom's dominant position in the region. However, a switch to hub prices now could present Gazprom with the opportunity to mitigate revenue reduction while offering the EC a politically compelling compromise.
