How will the European gas market be affected by Norwegian maintenance in summer 2023?
Report summary
Norwegian piped imports currently account for 26% of total gas supply for Europe (excluding Turkey) and are the major source of piped gas after the cuts of Russian gas pipeline flows. After a long period of high production and reduced maintenance, lower Norwegian gas production is expected for 2023. However, the European gas market remains tight and TTF prices have been shown to be sensitive to news of additional unavailability of Norwegian infrastructure.
