NDRC approves the 'Russia-East' gas pipeline
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
The preliminary domestic routing for the 'Russia-East' pipeline will allow east Siberian gas to flow from Northeast China to Shanghai. We expect north demand to consume the full contracted volumes, while delivered prices into Shanghai do not look competitive versus spot LNG in 2020. However, the option to take gas further south to Shanghai may be more strategic as China seeks to manage seasonality, to increase volumes of Russian gas in the future and to develop Shanghai as a gas trading hub.
