Commodity Market Report
North America gas weekly update: Spring forward
Report summary
After a frigid February, we’re back to a mild March—en route to be the seventh warmest since 1950. Even with higher LNG and Mexican exports, we’re still expecting our end of withdrawal season storage level to creep up toward the five-year average. It’s hard to compete with weather, and the prompt Henry Hub April contract has shown that, testing $2.50/mmbtu at times this week. It seems as if the North America gas market is springing forward into a whole lot of mild weather.
