Commodity Market Report
North America gas weekly update: too fast, too soon?
Report summary
Oil prices are rising too fast, too soon. The threat of an earlier than expected return of oil production through re-opening of oil wells and fracking new ones do not bode well with both oil and gas markets. Especially as we still face significant domestic demand losses due to coronavirus and large scale US LNG cancellations may be looming ahead. It takes time for markets to rebalance. Oil and dry gas operators that are eager to bring back production to reduce near term pain is understandable, but a capital disciplined approach will provide brighter days ahead that are more sustainable.
