US LNG cargo cancellations: who is most at risk?
Report summary
More than 20 companies have contracted for nearly all US LNG capacity. Normally, these could be expected to lift around 60 to 70 LNG cargoes per month through the summer, destined for markets all across the globe. But with the market oversupplied and cash margins on US LNG turning negative, all eyes are on how they respond. In this Insight we take a deeper dive into: • The buyers/tollers and their contracted capacity in terms of monthly cargo commitments • Those most likely to have cancelled and why; and whose volumes are still expected to flow • What 10, 20 or 30 cancelled cargoes per month means in terms of reduced feedgas to US LNG facilities and reduced LNG output
