The Masela PSC contains the giant Abadi gas field, located in the Timor Sea. The field was discovered by INPEX in 2000. Appraisal drilling in 2007-2008 and 2013-2014 confirmed recoverable resources in the region of 21 tcf of gas.In May 2008, a Plan of Development (PoD) for Abadi was submitted, consisting of two development options: piping gas to a greenfield onshore LNG plant, or constructing an offshore floating LNG (FLNG) facility.
