Dragon - LNG regas terminal
Report summary
The Dragon LNG terminal is located in South Wales, near the South Hook LNG terminal. The terminal received its first cargo in July 2009 and commercial operations commenced in September 2009. The terminal is owned and operated by Dragon LNG, whose current shareholders are Shell (50%) and Ancala Partners (50%), an infrastructure investment fund. 4Gas sold its 20% stake to PETRONAS in 2011, Shell acquired BG Group in 2015 and PETRONAS sold its 50% stake to Ancala partners in 2019. The terminal received its first Q-flex LNG tanker in August 2010 but, unlike the neighbouring South Hook terminal, has never received a Q-Max vessel. The most cargos are sourced from Qatar, US and Russia.
