Report summary
Supply overhang persists with the end of winter demand season quickly approaching This week saw the last trading date for the Feb TTF contract, shifting the current front month to March. Feb TTF prices advanced by around a dollar, starting at $8.67/mmbtu and settling at $9.5/mmbtu. NE Asian prices began the week at $9.42/mmbtu and ended the period flat. Henry Hub prices started the week around $2.62, with prices expiring on 29 January. March rolled on as the prompt contract at $2.17/mmbtu, approximately $0.50 lower than the Feb settle of $2.71. TTF prices remain at the bottom of the coal-to-gas switching range and are now flat with NE Asian DES.
