Following the successful operation of the satellite Hachinohe terminal that began operations in March 2007 Nippon Oil made their final investment decision to proceed with the construction of a larger LNG regasification terminal costing 50 billion yen (US$558 million) in January 2010. The EPC contract with JGC to construct the terminal was signed in October 2010. Construction of the terminal at Hachinohe in the northern Aomori Prefecture began on April 2011 with commercial operations ...
