PETRONAS' long LNG and the Malaysian sink
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
PETRONAS is going increasingly long on LNG. It has access to a growing supply volume, including additional LNG capacity in eastern Malaysia and international offtake agreements. At the same time, it is facing expiry of existing supply contracts to its customers and lower than anticipated LNG demand in Peninsular Malaysia. We estimate PETRONAS’ flexible LNG volume could grow from 2.5 mmtpa in 2015 to over 26 mmtpa in 2022; surpassing even the flexible LNG portfolio of Qatargas.
