Report summary
Ahafo is a conventional open pit and underground operation. The underground portion of the operation started in 2017 in the Subika deposit. The primary underground method is long-hole open stoping using backfill. The processing plant expansion program was completed in 2019, which increased capacity from 7.5Mt/a to 11Mt/a. The benefits included increased production while lowering costs and off-setting impact of lower grades and harder ore. In 2020, the mine produced 480koz of gold.
