Report summary

Andrade is a surface mine owned and operated by ArcelorMittal located near the town of João Monlevade in Minas Gerais state, Brazil. Andrade supplies sinter feed to ArcelorMittal's João Monlevade integrated steel plant and is linked to the plant by a dedicated railway. At the end of 2018, ArcelorMittal approved a project to extend Andrade's life and abide with stricter environmental guidelines and regulations for mining in Brazil. The project's scope encompasses the construction of filtrations lines and subsequent dry stacking of generated tailings, avoiding the usage of dams.
