Bolivian small mines is the combined production from numerous small mines and co-operatives. In 2015, production from Bolivian small mines totalled nearly 158kt zinc in zinc concentrate, 36% of the country total. We define the small mines as those with production of less than 10kt/a zinc in concentrate and are mainly comprised by the cooperative mines. In most cases the small miners sell the ore to traders or small concentrator plants around Bolivia. Then the Pb and Zn concentrates are shipped through the Antofagasta port in Chile.
